Don't you adore this 'About the Author' blurb? I used to think I wanted to chase accolades and professional prestige, to get letters behind my name and then to see those alongside ambitious and breakthrough studies on incurable diseases. I can't pinpoint the moment this all changed for me, perhaps it was a travel experience or perhaps it happened gradually. Or perhaps I've spent too much time in the travel literature section, reading about all those who took the non-conventional route. However it was triggered, I started to realize that I wanted to pursue the ultimate blurb. A few lines that would describe me and my life that was worthy of a best-selling book, a memoir, not fiction. A story so beautiful, no one would believe it, if not for the the blatant black text of MEMOIR. I love blurbs that make you wistful, wistful for a city, a backstory that could be yours. What would your 'About the Author' say?
