Living in Bergamo, I'm no expert on Milan, however I've been trying to get to know the latter a bit better. As I wrote in a comment to a fellow blogger, you can't fall in love with Milan overnight, nor is it love at first sight. One area that is a little piece of wonderful is the Navigli district, basically where the canals are and where you can find a great line-up of not overly trendy, arty bars. While it is well-known by tourists, it's still very much frequented by Italians who love sitting out al fresco in the summers and watching the promenade of people strut by. Don't try to wear heels unless you're a seasoned high heel athlete, one of my good friends got the most impressive blister from walking around this area one night. Also, my outfit here was a bit too Corso Como for the nightlife, I suggest wearing dressier jeans and a nice top instead. If any of you readers are from the Milan area, let me know in the comments where else I need to check out!
