Rudsak is a Montreal-based company that epitomizes 'the spirit of cool rebel', but in my mind, it aligns perfectly with 'the style of Torontonians', which I would describe as being very much the high-end hipster with rebel touches. I love to buy local and I still adore my made in Canada Mooseknuckles bomber jacket, however it is not exactly something you can dress-up or wear out to a fancy dinner. Enter the Grace coat. Down-filled and adorned with real fur (sorry PETA, I must also admit here, I love eating rabbit with polenta). The official description: Memory puffer with leather sleeves and asymmetric front zipper closure. Front leather welt pockets, rabbit fur lining inside hood and raccoon fur trim at hood edge. Interior dickie with rib collar and rib cuff. Signature Rudsak accessories. Hi, although this is an old post I was doing research on Rudsak jackets, I came upon several several bad reviews on the quality! I was thinking of purchasing a Rudsak myself from Queen St.How would you describe the quality of the jacket? Is it still holding up?

Hi! I only just purchased in October but I've been wearing it fairly regularly since then with no major issues but I guess that it's only been one month of use. I think the leather detailing and sleeves on mine are great, I've had a few instances where I thought I would have marked the leather (running into things and my purse pulling at it), but nothing happened. The only thing I could foresee is perhaps the fur thinning out in the hood, it's a little more noticeable with the brown fur than I think the black. However, keep in mind that while these are Canadian designed jackets, they are still made in China. So you are really paying more for the sharp, distinctive design. Quality-wise, those jackets made for Antarctic expeditions are more likely to hold up in harsh conditions and consistent use- think Canada Goose and Moose Knuckles (both made in Canada). I personally already had a Moose Knuckles parka so I was looking specifically for the design in the Rudsak jacket to wear on freezing evenings requiring a more formal look! Hope that helps! :)

No, they are quite fitted and you're probably best to buy a size up from your usual. For example, I am kind of an average build, 5ft. 2'' and my jacket is a Medium although I also tried the Large and could have easily bought that one as well. The sleeves are tight- so if you think you want to wear even a heavier material or a sweatshirt underneath, you could even do 2 sizes up. I probably wouldn't be able to fit a knit sweater under mine. The only reason I didn't buy L is just because the body was not as fitted around the waist section.

I am planning to get one myself! Is the condition of the jacket still very good? I'm debating with get this one of mackage AKIVA.. I just read some scary stuff about RUDSAK quality being not too good especially shoes and laptop carriers...but hopefully their jackets are ok?

Hi. I was just wondering how the jacket held up after a second season. I'm between this one & mackage and am torn.

Hi Liz, sorry took awhile for me to write you yikes!!! This jacket is still in good condition, however since I'm in Italy with it, I'm not using it on a daily basis in the winter so keep that in mind!
